Chocolate, Hugs, Kisses...No Roses

At the end of February, the month full of sweetness for those who believe to celebrate Valentine, and I am among those people. For me and my family, it doesn't have to be a 'glam' celebration with bunch of roses, but hugs, kisses are more important. We're happy to celebrate it not only just two of us (my husband and me) but with our tot and her grandma...more joyful.
And am so proud of my self, that since the beginning of February, I learned the better methods of communicating and disciplining my kid. No tivi during day time from Monday to Friday and then my two years old can have tivi day during weekend.
The Snow that falling the last week of February seemed make 'perfect' for my daughter's playing time, She made her 1st snowman, and proudly present it to her daddy. Yeaah...winter still on baby..!. Thank You God for this wonderful moments.

Valentine,..The Tradition

I used to celebrate Valentine with my husband, then since our Grace was born, we celebrate it with her and my mother in-law.

The 'celebration' was just simple, we usually go my mom in-law's house and Grace would love to open the gifts that we bought for her and also from her grandma.
She's 2 years and 4 months old now, still no clue, hhmm..why there some gifts for her...but we didn't sing 'happy birtday'...LoL.And this year was her 3rd Valentine's Day for her and we also celebrate her big achievement as a little girl going to be a 'big girl'...well, she's been doing so good in potty training in the day time, I couldn't be happier and we're so proud of her. I think this is kinda best Valentine gift for us. And of course her grandma was thrill too.
And then after that we go to one of the seafood restaurant in Tacoma, which it happend to be in 3 years in a row was a same restaurant name 'Johnny's Dock'...we thought,we're okay with this tradition, meaning always get together four of us to celebrate Valentine and about the place where we eat, I think it doesn't matter, we can change if we want.

A 'Quiche' ..We Love

I like to make this for weekend breakfast,...usually I make it the day before, that way Saturday morning became easier, and enjoy breakfast with my love ones. The original recipe is using a press-in-the pan Bisquick crust, but sometimes I do short cut and I use store bought pie dough.

1 store bought pie dough
1 package (6 oz) sliced Canadian Bacon, chopped.
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese (4 oz)
4 medium green onions, thinly sliced (1/4 cup)
1 1/2 cup half and half or regular milk
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

A Date at Harbor Lights

Last Monday, ..and that was last day of January 2011, I had a date with my hubby, it's called 'Early Bird Dinner' according to 'Harbor Lights' seafood restaurant, meaning the special price valid from 3 until 6 PM. We love Monday for eating out, because usually it's not too crowded.
The Waterfront in Ruston Way, Tacoma has long line of various seafood restaurants, if we're lucky we'll be seated overlooking the beautiful Commencement Bay, including at Harbor Lights.
My hubby brought me for the first time to Harbor Lights on Valentine's Day 2007, and after we discussed where we gonna go for dinner, we came up the idea to go to Harbor Lights again which not that far from our place.
This is a brief story about this restaurant :
Harbor Lights is located on scenic Ruston Way, overlooking Commencement Bay in Tacoma. For over 50 years, Harbor Lights has become well known for serving colossal portions of seafood such as the four pound bucket of steamed clams. They are also noted for their charcoal pit grilled steaks. Harbor Lights was the dream of Anton Barcott, an immigrant from Yugoslavia. On January 26, 1959 Anton opened Harbor Lights among the lumber mills and shipyards along the waterfront. Anthony's Restaurants purchased Harbor Lights on April 29th, 2000 and warmly welcomes this landmark to the Anthony's family. (Anthony's Home Port)
