Chicken Rice ala Hainan-Nasi Ayam Hainan

I love this dish especially the fragrance of the garlic and ginger when I'm cooking it. Sometimes my family eat this without the sauce and still taste great!!

Ingredients; Bahan
4 chicken thighs, skinless, bone in; paha atas ayam, bertulang, tanpa kulit
1 tbs lemon juice; 1 sdm perasan lemon
4 green onions, thinly sliced; daun bawang, iris tipis
1 small onion, chopped; bawang bombay ukuran kecil, cacah
about 1 inch of ginger, sliced; 2 cm jahe, iris
2 1/2 cup water; sekitar 750 ml air
2 tsp salt; garam
1/2 tsp pepper; merica bubuk
3 tbs soy sauce; kecap asin

For the Rice: Bahan untuk nasi
2 tbs canola oil; minyak goreng
1/2 tsp sesame oil; minyak wijen
3 clove garlic, chopped; bawang putih, cacah
1 cup uncooked rice; 500 g beras
1 3/4 cup chicken broth from cooked chicken above; 500 ml kaldu ayam atau secukupnya
2 tbs soy sauce; kecap asin
1 tsp salt; garam
1/2 tsp pepper; merica bubuk

Sauce (optional)
1 tsp grated ginger; jahe parut
1 tsp grated garlic; bawang putih parut
4 tbs soy sauce; kecap asin

in the pot, put the chicken and pour the juice of lemon onto chicken set aside for a while
Masukkan kedalam panci, ayam dan lumuri dengan jus lemon, diamkan beberapa saat
Add green onions, and ginger (if you prefer using whole chicken, put the herbs inside chicken cavity)
Tambahkan daun bawang dan jahe (jika menggunakan ayam utuh, masukkan bumbu kedalam perut ayam)
Add the water and all the spices
Tambahkan air dan garam, merica, kecap asin
Shimmer until the chicken done and the broth reduced
Masak dengan api sedang hingga ayam matang
Meanwhile, heat the canola oil and sesame oil in the other pot. Saute garlic until fragrance
Sementara itu, panaskan minyak goreng dan minyak wijen dalam panci. Tambahkan bawang putih, masak hingga harum
Add the rice, give it a stir, add the broth, add the salt, pepper and soy sauce. Cooked until done and fluffy...Serve with sliced chicken.
Tambahkan beras, aduk sebentar, masukkan kaldu ayam, garam, merica bubuk dan kecap asin. Masak hingga matang. Hidangkan dengan irisan ayam Hainan.
